Pet Owners Often Spend More on Pets than Themselves

Pet Owners Often Spend More on Pets than ThemselvesIt’s no secret that pet owners love their pets. They invest in high quality foods, they take their pet to the veterinarian when it gets sick, and they buy billions of dollars’ worth of goods and services every year. But did you know that many pet owners love their pets so much they actually spend more money on their four-legged companion than they do on themselves? A recent poll conducted by VoucherCloud.net turned up an interesting statistic: 42 percent of the polled visitors claim to spend more money on their pets than they do on the humans in their homes. In terms of monthly spending, pet fanatics spend about $22 on average more on pets than on humans, mostly in the form of treats, toys, and other luxuries. Pets truly are pampered by nearly half of their owners, if the poll’s results are to be believed. This poll, though not necessarily scientific, falls in line with recent data that indicates pet owners are spending more than ever on their pets. Specialty boutiques, premium foods, pet health insurance, and other goods and services related to pet ownership have made huge gains in the last decade. With so many new products and services on the market, pet owners have ways to indulge this habit and to spend more on pets than they do on themselves About the Author: Craig Davis is Founder and CEO of Vet Organics, a company which produces effective and safe natural remedies for dogs and cats.
