Sleeping With Pets Might Be Hurting Your Rest

27th January, 2015
Sure, it’s fun to cuddle up with your dog or cat at night when bedtime rolls around. The company is nice and it feels good to spoil your furry companion by letting him sleep in bed with you. However, you could be doing serious damage to your ability to get a good night’s sleep by letting your dog or cat share your resting space. According to new research out of the Mayo Clinic, around 10% of pet owners report that pets sometimes interrupt their sleep. The number in 2002 was just one percent, which indicates pets in the bed is a trend on the rise, and not necessarily a good one for pet owners looking to land a decent night’s sleep. Essentially the study determined that most pets do not cause major sleep interruptions, but minor annoyances that over time can damage your sleep cycles and comfort levels. Sleep problems are best left to a sleep specialist, but if you’re feeling as though you’re not getting the most out of your sleeping time it’s possible that allowing your pet in the bed could be one of the primary culprits. Disturbances reported by respondents included pet snoring, seizures, restlessness, and the need to head outside for a potty break. The most common pets owned by respondents were dogs, birds, and cats. In the end, whether to allow your pet in bed with you comes down to personal preferences and the behavior of your pet. I used this product for my Boston last summer. Worked awesome. In 2 days, I've seen a improvement. Within 4 days, the infection was gone. My pit bull started having an issue with his right ear. It was bad. It was so infected. I used EcoEars twice a day and again it worked like magic!! 4 days have passed and you can't even tell he had an ear issue!! I will never use anything else. This stuff is fantastic!! Thank you Vet Organics for such an amazing product!!
