101 dalmations 101 Dalmatians (1996) This live-action treatment of the Disney animated classic is definitely a good time. Anita and Roger have a happy home with their Dalmatians Perdita and Pongo. Unfortunately, the dogs' puppies are kidnapped by the dastardly Cruella De Vil (played by Glenn Close) who has a terrible plan for the pups. All ninety-nine pups must be rescued before it’s too late. Homeward Bound (1993) No list of dog movies would be anywhere near complete without mentioning Homeward Bound. This remake of Disney’s 1963 The Incredible Journey follows the beloved adventures of bulldog Chance, golden retriever Shadow, and Himalayan cat Sassy. Not only is this a thoroughly engaging tale, but it is a technical marvel as the filmmakers manage to prompt great performances from the animal actors.
